Welcome to St. John of God, Auburn parish

“Go, therefore, make disciples of all nations; baptize them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teach them to observe all the commands I gave you. And know that I am with you always; yes, to end of time.” (Matthew 28: 19-20)

Administrator/Priest – Fr Richard Ddumba
My desire is to get to know all of my parishioners and to be of assistance where ever I can be.
To share in your joys and your sufferings, I am here for you.
God Bless you all.

The Cup of Human Kindness”

On the 9th April 1916 the suburb of Auburn witnessed the Foundation Stone of new Church laid by his Grace, Archbishop Michael Kelly. The same year on the 3rd of December there was a solemn blessing and opening of the Church and presbytery.

Under the patronage and protection of Saint John of God our parish makes the presence of the Catholic Church as a Sacrament of Salvation for all peoples.

Standing in a multicultural suburb, St. John of God church is open to everyone, welcomes everyone and cares for everyone. If you are Catholic or if you are thinking to become Catholic you will find and even you can be part of one of the wonderful groups in the Church: St Vincent de Paul Society, Knitting group, the musical choir, liturgy team, ministry of the Word, Extra-ordinary ministry of Holy Communion, the Rosary group, or you can be part of our dedicated and generous volunteers making different activities in the premises of the church like cleaning, welcoming, arranging flowers, etc.

And obviously for our Catholic parishioners, St John of God church dedicates full time to sanctify Christian life through prayers and the celebration of the Sacraments. Throughout the year, the parish offers special events to enrich our Christian faith with Bible studies, retreats, pilgrimages, Lectio Divina, Reflection on the Official Church’s documents, Study of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Knowing the life of the saints, etc.

We would like you to come and join us in our exiting mission. Be part of us and you will see, it is true: He is always with us. Yes, let us do it together for the glory of God! After all “The only tragedy in life is not to become a saint” (Leon Bloy)

May our sweet Mother, Madonna della Strada, pray for us.
