ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE PASSING OF FR. RAYMOND (RAY) FARRELL (nickname:  Bumper)

TO ETERNAL LIFE

11th October 1946 –  27TH MARCH 2020

The Sydney Archdiocese is saddened to announce the death of Rev. Fr. RAYMOND FARRELL, Beloved Parish Priest of St John of God, Auburn.     Fr. Raymond Farrell passed away just after mid-night today on 27th March 2020 at St Vincent’s Care Services, Auburn, which was right across the road from his beloved Parish.

Fr Ray’s funeral took place on Thursday, 2nd April 2020 at 10am.He was laid to rest in a most unusual way that none of us could have anticipated with only about 10 people able to attend his funeral.  We understand that many of you will be saddened by the fact that you will not be able to attend, but once this situation has settled we will be able to remember him with a mass altogether.

Many of you watched on from the live streaming.  Many thanks to all of you who wrote in beautiful messages during the live streaming.  A video of the funeral is still available on the website and on Facebook Catholic Archdiocese Sydney.

We pray for his soul and for each other.

Eternal rest grant unto him o Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.’

MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE
